Fish Tataki Style

This recipe is intended for tuna, pan fried until crispy outside but just warmed rare (raw) in the middle. If you don't have tuna, you can do it with salmon or halibut too ... though you'd probably want to cook halibut through.

  • Crumble rice chex cereal, add poppy seeds, sesame seeds, a little chili powder, a little curry powder, or flavour to taste. (author insists fresh poppy seeds from the garden is key)
  • Dip fish pieces in egg, shake off excess, then roll in crumble mix.
  • Sear in hot oiled pan.
  • Serve in thin slices, with dipping sauce..

Dipping sauce:

  • Tamari soy sauce
  • Lime juice
  • Dijon mustard
  • Mayo

Japanese influenced west coast cuisine, conceived by Roald K ... yum.
